Wine regions are often best explored by car. Consider hiring a driver or joining a guided tour so everyone can enjoy the tastings.
Spring (April–June) and harvest (September–October) are ideal for visiting Madeira. Summer can be busy but vineyards are beautiful.
Visiting 3–4 wineries per day is ideal. More than that and the palate — and the memory — starts to blur.
